In the 8 weeks Kubo(1) left for their Japan residency, they would keep in contact with Michael John through voice memo’s. In recording, transcribing, and the eventual printed outcome of their recordings resulted in a capsule of the weeks in which they chose to dive deeper into their connection rather than let distance dampen them.
Memos grew longer, with every minute shared, and in the end the two artist decided that the time shared was precious enough to begin their creative partnership and create a book.
